The apartment design is an exploration of real and imagined boundaries within the site constraints. The space defined by real boundaries include: wall planes, horizontal planes and objects. These planes overlap adjacent spaces or are punctured to blur the boundary. The continuous planes are designed to emphasise the horizontal and blur the perceived vertical scale. The existing low ceilings are lit with indirect lighting sources to emphasise their height. The ambiguity or erosion of the spatial boundaries allows one to create their own spatial order or hierarchy. Therefore the spatial experience is flexible and layered.
